Life Coaching

What is the definition of life coaching?

Life coaching, often known as personal coaching or simply “coaching,” is a collaborative process in which a qualified professional (the coach) assists you (the client) in achieving your personal life objectives on a one-on-one or group basis. These objectives could be anything: increased self-confidence, weight loss, a career shift, better relationships, and so on. Coaching is provided to people of diverse ages, backgrounds, and occupations, but they all have one thing in common: a desire to achieve more in their personal or professional lives. Whatever your objectives, a professional coach will provide you with motivation, accountability, and support, ensuring that you stay focused and take action week after week.
The feeling of being “stuck” is one of the most prevalent reasons people say they want to work with a coach. They’re stuck in a job they don’t like, in a relationship that doesn’t fulfill them, or in a life that without meaning and purpose. A coach’s job is to help you become unstuck by using a variety of tools, techniques, and processes to help you figure out what motivates you, where you want to go, and how to get there.

The term “coach” was not chosen at random. Personal life coaches are substantially the same as football or tennis coaches. A good sports coach will keep you focused on your objective, give you feedback, support you when you’re frustrated, and make sure you’re challenged enough week after week to achieve actual improvement. Similarly, a skilled personal life coach will keep you motivated, focused, and provide objective feedback to help you get further and faster than you could alone.
